MultiVerse Asia has taken another step towards its goal of being Myanmar’s top advertising and marketing agency by hiring Ben McGrath as Creative Director and Tyler Thihan Kyaw as Associate Creative Director. It is a major step for an independent marketing company in Myanmar to invest in such heavyweight talent.

Ben has spent over 30 years in advertising, 22 of which have been in Asia. He worked as Executive Creative Director with JWT, Grey and Chuo Senko. He was also Regional Creative Director with Kinetics Advertising throughout Greater China. He has won more than 20 international awards handling brands such as Rolls Royce, Sunsilk, Coca-Cola, American Express, Marriott, Watsons Water, Thai Airways and countless others.

Tyler was previously Senior Art Director with Today Ogilvy & Mather in Yangon and Art Director with Ape in Singapore. Leading a team of designers, art directors and copywriters, he produced branding campaigns for the likes of Coca-Cola, Konidin, OK Condensed Milk, Moon Boutique Hotel, Fraser Malls, Clarke Quay Central and Marquis.

Ben and Thihan’s role will be to build on the agency’s already excellent creative reputation and to turn MultiVerse Asia into an international contender. From branding and websites to traditional advertising and events, their mission is to lift the company’s work to even higher levels.

They will also be responsible for the development of creative staff. The company has a policy of hiring Myanmar’s best people. Ben and Thihan’s mission is to help them become world-class.

Thom Hayward, MultiVerse Asia founder and Managing Director, is a man living his dreams. “All the pieces are falling into place,” he says. “I want to create a Myanmar agency that can compete equally with others around the region. I also want to give back to the country by helping my colleagues be the very best they can be. With Ben and Thihan, we now have the creative leadership to make the vision a reality.”
